Can we accept it as comforting to be told that all our lengthy and lifelong pain and gruesome agony will be snapped away in a blink and that we won't be able to remember it such as a pregnant woman delivering her baby?

Personally, I can't imagine something good while in agony what more of a promise that this will all go away in an instant, making me feel that the promise simply doesn't ring any bells and doesn't making any sense. Perhaps what I can think of is only of not fainting or giving up.

What else could we think of that could be comfort of us in our seemingly endless rack of anguish?

Those are wonderful words, asserting that it is indeed the true path that wreaks of affliction implying no other alternate.

Many come to consider the stories of spiritual tests as of Job and others to be occasional freak stories (that hopefully never comes ones way...) when it is the only way of entrance though severity certainly depends on individuals to genders. Problem is that these exams are not all visible due to its very subjective pain measurement... say I just got bankrupt and I don't feel its loss... that means no filling up of the pain meter which could then cause time trial extensions of as long as Abraham's 25 years (of waiting for a son). It was clear that Abraham was contently happy and was not that disturbed by his lack of descendants (till past later double decades).. which then got him his famous quarter of a century deal...

Plus ... knowledge of being in a trial status should not be done through guess work.. I guess.. you've guessed right...

Sometime it's also sort of twisted relieving, to be reminded of interesting facts, such as the IMMEDIATE wiping away of saints' life long tears into endless joys of perfect life versus the symmetrical equivalent of the INSTANTANEOUS removal of sinners' life long smirks, smug smiles and grins of lifetime joyful pleasure into INSTANTLY unimaginable pain, grotesque torture and horrifying total regret of life, dwindling dreadfully into the infinite voidness of unspoiled death.
