Administrators Gail Posted February 21, 2011 Administrators Posted February 21, 2011 Angels, Positive thinking, Purpose-Driven, Fireproof... Is anyone else getting tired of the movements within mainstream Christianity that seem to just come and go? It's hard as a bookseller to sell some books because after a couple of years they are old hat, passé. The Bible says, "Heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away." Is there a need for fads within the church? WDYT? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Members phkrause Posted February 21, 2011 Members Posted February 21, 2011 I personally don't care for fads, and spiritual fads are even worse. Like you said they come and go. We should stand up for what we believe and not be swayed to this and that. It kind of reminds me of many years ago, growing up we used to say cool and groovy, of course there are other words also. After a while when saying them people would say to you, we don't use those words, come on get up to date. Well I've continued to use those words anyway, well today many are saying those words again. (obviously its been for a while now). Also there are some fads that you don't have any control of. Like clothes, even if you liked certain clothes, you couldn't buy them so obviously they would go out of style for a while and than they'd come back. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

A heart set on love will do no wrong- Confucius And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. Nothing but divine power can regenerate the human heart and imbue souls with the love of Christ, which will ever manifest itself with love for those for whom He died. –1SM 335-338 "Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another." 1 John 4:7-11.
