Besides, when the USSR was on Europe’s doorstep incessantly rattling her sabres, frightening the b-jiminies out of those little tykes attached to the teat of mother America’s largesse, did we add to their consternation by increasingly arming* mother Russia? Instead, if I recall, we not only saved their sorry fundaments from total devastation (WWII), but we buffered them while they rebuilt their economy, and on, and on… and continue to do so to this day. Now, forgetting that there exists an arms embargo of what? mebbe two decades? the Pacific is our pond vis-à-vis Europe. We really don’t need them providing the means for China to give us more grief than they are already giving us.
