Overaged Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I don't call my rationalizing evidence. I call it reasoning. And I wish you would address the ideas instead of this generalized rant. I generally post references and instead of addressing the references most of you, with the exception of Tom, Bravus, and few others, either attack the author or myself. Don't be so fast to have a pity party because you cannot sway others to your anecdotal theorizings. Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." (Job 37:21)"I cannot know why suddenly the stormshould rage so fiercely round me in it's wrathBut this I know: God watches all my pathAnd I can trust""God helps us to draw strength from the storm" - OveragedFaith makes things possible; it does not make them easy, Steps To Christ

Don't be so fast to have a pity party because you cannot sway others to your anecdotal theorizings. I'm not looking for pity. It was an observation of how people respond when they hit the end of their arguments. When you have no basis for your position you do this confabulation of implied insults and taunts. Address my points. That is all I ask. Quote Rich http://tiny.cc/CM2j8

Or don't you believe that we should TEST everything to see if it is the truth? Oh, I almost forgot--wasn't it you who said that your foundation for your belief was baised upon 'faith'? Well no wonder no one can argue with that! Quote
Moderators John317 Posted March 16, 2011 Moderators Posted March 16, 2011 In the Bible, "faith," "trust," "belief," "confidence," and "firm reliance," are all the same thing. John 20:31 but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, NOTE: the above verses are showing the importance of faith. When Jesus healed people, he would often say, "Be it done unto you as you have faith." Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

No, I don't know of any texts at the moment. I'm going on logic and a general knowledge of what I know biblically. First, who sinned and was going to die as a result? God or man? Can God sin? Would sin cause His death? In other words, who needed saving, God or man? Is it Christ's death that is all important-the exact instant He died? Or His life poured out for us-birth to cross-and the resultant resurrection? Right now I'm at Christ's humanity had to die, not His divinity, because man sinned, not God. We need the divinity combined with humanity in order to redeem us from sin, in order to live the holy life we are called to live, not to die, or be resurrected. I hope that wasn't too clumsy of an explanation. Quote facebook. /teresa.quintero.790

Dr. Rich: Do you see the word "may" given twice by Jesus? It does NOT say "will". Big difference! One still has to believe IN what Jesus said and taught and then must obey them and the ten commandments to be saved. John 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, Dr. Rich: Do you see the "to all who did receive him" This was NOT the whole world. And, do you see the word "right"? They still need to DO something as their is no such thing as free grace. NOTE: the above verses are showing the importance of TRUST. When Jesus healed people, he would often say, "Be it done unto you as you have faith." This 'faith' could be called trust. Quote
