cricket Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Eleven years is fantastic! I only wish I were around for the first four of those--I'm sure I've missed a lot of great people on the way. (Sure miss a lot who've left us over the years too.) Here's to eleven more!!!1111!!! Quote
Dr. Shane Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 I found Club Adventist when I was in a motel while building a project in El Paso, Texas. My little boy was just a few months old. He is now 10. My wife and I had a traumatic experience with a pastor in a church, moved our membership to another church and pretty much just going through the motions. Club Adventist and Adventist television really made me feel like I belonged to something much bigger. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity

Administrators Gail Posted March 20, 2011 Administrators Posted March 20, 2011 I was invited here about 10 years ago, too... It's hard to believe it's been 10 years... a whole decade! Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Dr. Shane Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Weren't you shaving your head for a cancer patient, Gail? Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
skyblue888 Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Ten years for me as well. Has it been ten years already Gail shaved her head! I sure remember that like it was yesterday almost. One thing I do appreciate a lot about CA is the freedom of expression, freedom of conscience we all enjoy here. I have not found that on other forums as much as I have here. I thank and praise God for that. Long live CA. Yes, thank you Stan for starting it. sky :) Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.
puddles Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Wow...11 years? I must have come along about 10 years ago because I have been married 8 of those years and I know I joined CA long before I got married! Where does time go...?!?!? Thanks so much for creating a "haven" for so many! God bless Stan and the worker bee's that help to make this place what it is! Quote
Moderators LynnDel Posted March 21, 2011 Moderators Posted March 21, 2011 I've always been slightly bummed that my profile shows me as having registered in May of 2000, when I actually first registered in March. Because of a need for personal privacy and safety, I asked Stan to remove the full name under which I had registered, and apparently the best way to do that was to re-register under my first name. I have not been as active here as some of you CA addicts, but I read regularly, usually on my cell phone from my pillow these last five years. I have lost countless posts to the ether because of the persnickety nature of "smart" phone technology. Even though I am sometimes perturbed by what I read here, I enjoy the site and count all of you as my friends. LynnDel Quote LD

Moderators LynnDel Posted March 22, 2011 Moderators Posted March 22, 2011 Thank you for changing my sign-on date, Stan! Am I still member #87 then? Just kidding -- don't even try to change that one. 87 is a good number, adds up to 15 in cribbage. LD Quote LD
Moderators LynnDel Posted March 22, 2011 Moderators Posted March 22, 2011 'nuff sed - I was on the old forum, with Sysop Ralph Blodgett (my mother said, "Why would any mother name her son 'Sysop?') -- don't remember all of my Compu$erve ID, though. Quote LD
GreatLakesGramma Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I joined Adventists Online in December 1999, less than a year before it was shut down. I was more active in the chat room than the forum, & by the time both were shut down, my son had created a new chat room for my friends and me to use for our Friday night chats. It was called SDA Chat (sdachat.net). I don't remember when I closed it, but we used all free software and servers, and after one too many missed chats from problems with one or another of those, I decided I'd had enough of dealing with that.
