Stan Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Elizabeth Taylor has died at age 79 after two months in a Los Angeles hospital where she was being treated for congestive heart failure. Good Morning America said she died "in the early hours this morning" in Los Angeles, with her four children - Michael Wilding, Christopher Wilding, Liza Todd, and Maria Burton - by her side at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. "My mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest with great passion, humor and love," said her son Michael Wilding in a statement. "Though her loss is devastating to those of us who held her so close and so dear, we will always be inspired by her enduring contributions to our world." He continued: "Her remarkable body of work in film, her ongoing success as a businesswoman, and her brave and relentless advocacy in the fight against HIV/AIDS, all make us all incredibly proud of what she accomplished. We know, quite simply, that the world is a better place for Mom having lived in it. Her legacy will never fade, her spirit will always be with us, and her love will live forever in our hearts." In addition to her children, Taylor is survived by 10 grand children and four great grandchildren. Her publicist Sally Morrison says a private family funeral will be held later this week. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that contributions be made to the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. Moderators John317 Posted March 23, 2011 Moderators Posted March 23, 2011 I'm sorry to hear about this. I hope she was ready and knew Jesus. I have enjoyed many of her films, though I don't watch most of them any more. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Administrators Gail Posted March 23, 2011 Administrators Posted March 23, 2011 Her suffering is over now... Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
