LifeHiscost Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 ______trustworthy love, that only held on to God when the best of circumstances were the primary bonding we had with Him? I believe that I wouldn't want to to find myself in heaven if I had the burden of a possibility of putting Jesus through the same things He suffered for us to begin with, and still does, just because I didn't have any better control over myself than to eat a piece of forbidden fruit for a moments pleasure. "For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened—those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come—and who then turn away from God....[it is impossible] to bring them back to repentance, for (because, while, as long as) they nail upon the cross the Son of God afresh [as far as they are concerned] and are holding [Him] up to contempt and shame and public disgrace." Heb 6:4-6 NLT,AMP brackets their's "What do you conspire against the LORD? He will make an utter end of it. Affliction will not rise up a second time."Nahum 1:9 NKJV For the present we have these promises; "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever--"John 14:16 AMP parenthesis their's LHC "But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness."1 John 1:9 NLT Thoughts? ClubV12 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Someone said the other day that Jesus could have come by now, but that if He had we would have missed out because we weren't born yet. I said, I'd be OK with that, if our sacrafice of having never lived would hasten the end of sin. And what if I am a risk to heaven were I to be saved? God forbid! I am willing Lord, to accept my fate, be it good or bad, as He in His wisdom see's fit. Perhaps my "so called" christian life is to show the universe that God gave me every possible chance and in the end, it was I who rejected His love. It breaks my heart to think that if I choose to fall short of the heavenly goal, I will be among that throng that attacks the New Jerusalem. Oh Lord, save me from myself, but heaven must be protected, no matter what the cost, do with me what thou will. Quote
skyblue888 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Same here. It really does make me think seriously every time I think of falling short of the heavenly goal and be among the throng that will attack the New Jerusalem. May God keep us from every evil work and preserve us for His heavenly kingdom according to His promise. sky Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." May God keep us from every evil work and preserve us for His heavenly kingdom according to His promise. sky There is no biblical record of any names being put into the Lamb's book of life. Our names, and all those who choose or will choose Jesus and His Way, are there now. If we desire to be, and claim the promise of His righteousness instead of depending on our own to recommend us, will be ushered into the heavenly city. Praise God! There need be no doubt about our place in heaven when our lives are placed in Jesus' care. "I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.”"John 10:28-30 NLT "He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”"John 3:36 NLT "For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will."John 5:21 NKJV "Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life."1 John 5:12 NLT "And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal Life"1 John 5:20 NLT God blesses!
