Woody Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Is it more important to KNOW (or learn) the will of God ... or to DO. Should we not get about DOING the will of God. Should we not spend more time going about doing good for our community (His Will) rather than learning and studying and debating about God in His Word? If we are to neglect one ... I suspect it would be better to neglect the study of His Word. I think most of us know plenty. But also most of us do not do enough doing. Knowledge will not save us. But the neglect of 'doing' His work ... just might. Just my 2 cents and sense. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

Moderators Gerr Posted April 2, 2011 Moderators Posted April 2, 2011 ESV | Mt 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Quote

I hate that verse usually for it is SO often abused. But in this situation ... I appreciate it. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. I can understand disliking the verse, but hating? Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

Woody Posted April 2, 2011 Author Posted April 2, 2011 I guess I do need to say that I hate the verse at times. It makes me wonder ... why God do you give ammunition for the evil ones to pervert. :) Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Members phkrause Posted April 2, 2011 Members Posted April 2, 2011 I hate the misuse pk. And I didn't make that clear I guess. I can understand that, and that's how I feel about those that misquote EGW. "It makes me wonder ... why God do you give ammunition for the evil ones to pervert." And as far as this is concerned, I don't think it would matter, because the evil one perverts everything. The Church, sex, the Ten Commandments, marriage, etc. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

If I were the author of the Bible ... I would leave out a few things that are a set up for abuse. The same goes for Ellen White. But then no one has been knocking on my door to re-write either one.
