Did you know Satan is a blogger? Why yes he is - sort of like the web 2.0 version of C.S. Lewis' Screwtape Letters. BTW. that's a book all Christians should read. Anyway, here's what he blogged about Rob bell (you know - that guy who wrote Love Wins)

I Hate Rob Bell

Posted on March 26, 2011 by BLZBB

I hate Rob Bell. That little weasel with his hipster glasses and haircut is seriously pissing me off these days. I am sure, colleagues, that you are aware of the food fight he started with his new book, Love Wins? What kind of crappy title is that, anyway? I’m thinking of writing a book and calling it Hate Wins. Who do you think would get more sales? Now, usually we love it when followers of the BODY attack one another and rip each other up. So far, so good, right? In the old days we could be assured that when this was done there would be someone roasting on an open flame while the town turned out to see if the heretic would repent. Good times.

Now, though, I have to contend with this guy and his whole love wins, grace wins, “god” wins [censored]. Fortunately he is getting such blowback it’s hard to see how he can be an effective voice. But, the danger here is that he is revealing something we don’t want them to know. We like it better when they are fixated on us, obsessed with heaven and hell. We delight in people following our opponent mostly in the hope that they will escape the fiery flames of hell (or gain the glories of heaven). We have loved that they followed our enemy out of this all too human desire for hope of reward and fear of punishment.

Now, this Bell character comes along telling them it may not be that way. Maybe the whole thing is about what “god” wants. Maybe the Bible has something more profound than retributive justice as its central message. We don’t want them to think that. We want them to focus on fear and anxiety. We want them to wonder continually if they are good enough, or worthy of our opponents “love.” That preacher boy tells them that salvation is cosmic, and our enemy is continually working to restore a creation in love with its own destruction. Who gave him the right?

What’s funny about this to us is that he got the idea from one of their great idols, Lewis. I always found him a bit too insightful sometimes, but he did us no real harm. But Bell actually read what he argued and saw the merit. If they want to attack Bell, they’re going to have go back and read their Chronicles of Narnia a little closer. It might surprise them, especially that scene in The Last Battle. I just hope this leads to where it always does–Passions enflamed, people’s hatred out of control, and those who will not be happy in heaven unless they know someone else is in hell yelling that “god’s” love is so weak it has to punish all those they despise. Maybe we can get something out of this after all.

Here's a blog about the hurtfulness of "words" - something we sometimes see here:

Sticks and Stones Can Break the Bones, but It’s the Words That Will Kill Them

Posted on March 18, 2011 by BLZBB

I saw the other day that brain-scan studies show it takes less than 1 second for a word or phrase to trigger an emotional reaction in the brain. Of course, I knew this, but I think they don’t. If they did they might think differently about the words they use. Instead, they fill their rhetoric with viciousness, lies, deceit, and violence and then when the whole thing blows up in their face and someone is lying dead on the ground they proclaim their innocence. “I didn’t cause this,” they protest while the blood drips from their hands. You have to admit, given their willful refusal to accept responsibility for anything, there is a reason they are so close to our hearts.

They can always be counted on not to own this. When the body is on the noose, or in the oven, or lying in the hospital they will look at their accuser and say, “I didn’t have anything to do with that. I didn’t pull that trigger.” But you and I know they didn’t have to. All they did was plant the seed and watch the noxious weeds of their hatred grow. Words are the entryway of poison into their brain, resting until they explode.

Words are at the beginning of a long train of events that, if it all goes our way, ends in violence, hatred, and death. That person who said “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me,” never met a true master of propaganda. Words create the world. Words shape attitudes, habits of thought, ways of life. And they embed themselves so deeply into a person’s soul that they create that person. We like it when people get reckless with words. We appreciate their desire to demonize with words.

When they berate, belittle, betray, and hate with their words they are building our empire piece by bloody piece. When they use words to dehumanize one another, to lessen another person’s value because of the most mundane of things, they embrace the logic of hell. If we are successful then the words they use in their everyday life will become ever more poisonous. When Democrat, Republican, Socialist, Muslim, Christian, and Jew become as toxic and bring forth hatred in their souls we rejoice. We hope they create a world where anything they say is a slur, worthy of contempt. That’s just how we roll.

We are our worst enemy - sad but true.

You have to love what the Devil hates...

"Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good."

"Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal."

"I love God only as much as the person I love the least."

*Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth.

(And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)
