Woody Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Today I took Buddy for a walk. We went to a beautiful park area that had been hit by a tornado. So there was lots of downed trees and branches. We also walked on a four lane highway there that had been closed due to sinkhole. And surveyed the hole. We saw much. Well ... I saw much. But there was much danger there also with all the damage. Beings that we are both handicapped ...we looked helped out each other. I am very hard of hearing. Buddy on the other hand has sharp hearing. So, when he heard something ... he alerted me. Buddy on the other hand is blind. He has to depend upon me and trust me. And that he does. Even though Buddy is blind ... he likes to lead the way. But as soon as he senses on the leash that my body is moving one way or the other ... he moves in that direction. This is even though I have him on one of those long retractable leashes. And when we get to the more dangerous areas like near a tree that he might run into ... I shorten the leash and he knows it's for good reason and starts to be more careful. IN this way ... we work together. Buddy leads the way but I steer. There must be a good spiritual application there somewhere. Or maybe there isn't. But it's still the blind leading the deaf.
