Woody Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Let's grade ourselves now: How are we doing? Do we sin as much as those in the OT times? Of course we might sin more because we now know more and more is expected of us because of that ... BUT ... IS THAT FAIR? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Woody Posted April 13, 2011 Author Posted April 13, 2011 is this why they say 'ignorance is bliss' ? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Dottie Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Ignorance may be bliss, and although knowledge calls for more accountability, it is also empowering. Quote
Guest truthseeker007 Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I am doing bad i geuss. I mean there is a tremendous gap between the person i want to be and the person i am, i ve tried everything but i can t seem to close that gap, that s why i rely on Christ as my only hope. Then, if Jesus wants to accept me, i ll become changed at his second coming and my evil nature will be gone for good. For now, i think i would give myself a 5 or a 5.5 maybe on a scale from 1 to 10 Quote
Moderators Bravus Posted April 13, 2011 Moderators Posted April 13, 2011 Sorry Woody, more big words, or at least a slightly tricky concept... Jack Whitehouse talks about 'experiencing myself as a living contradiction'. That is, being aware of the gap between who I am and who I aspire to be. He says this is uncomfortable but essential, because it's awareness of this contradiction that drives us to want to change. That's a response more to truthseeker's post than the original question. In response to the original question, I say yes, it's fair, since the amount of sin matters not a whit to our salvation (heh, watch *that* bring out the usual suspects!) All that matters to our salvation is Jesus' sacrifice and our acceptance of that. (and, yes, once we're saved the sanctification process begins and we sin less and blah blah) The point is, it's perfectly fair, because it's predicated on God's perfect justice and infinite love and mercy. wayfinder Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Matthew 11:29,30 NAS "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." Start with the ten commandments, it is not impossible to be righteous. Quote
IreneFaye Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Ignorance might be a bliss. But here's what I think about us being unignorance. We who knows the truth, know that we had been sinned, and we know that everyone had fall to the sinful world. We know that our ignorance brother and sister had been sinned and we know the truth. It's by our nature, that we should tell our siblings in GOD about the truth. We must not let the people be forever ignorance, when we could help it. We the unignorance people, eventhough we're a sinful person, we know that there's savior that'll save us from the judgement we'll face, but the ignorance people doesn't know it. And that's make their position is more pittiful then us. We have Jesus, they're not, and when the judgement time come, they'll face their punishment, while we stay aside and watch them. Well I don't want to be the person who's going to just watch them. I don't want to if I can help it and that's why I spread the TRUTH. Quote
