Textus Receptus Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I am more concerned with all of the bloodshed than the actually monetary cost. Granted, as a society, we cannot afford either. My only solace is that God is in control. I honestly believe that what is happening in the Middle East is a result of a prepared plan to usher in the inevitable global control by Rome. I have recently been examining quotes and publications made my members of the Jesuit order. They are nothing less but ecstatic about the current situation. Certainly begs the question - why? I presume that any global chaos, especially those which involve overthrowing "despotic" rulers serves their purposes. Establishing democratic governments under the auspices of peace can certainly act as a conduit for future global cooperation for let’s say a more nefarious reason perhaps? Just a thought...... Quote

Dr. Rich Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Look folks, it does not matter one hoot if we drill for more oil or not. Take a look at this to understand that Jesus must come within the next ten years. Why? simple, MATH. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-QA2rkpBSY Quote

Derrick Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” Looks like youre thinking like that. Woody Posted April 15, 2011 Author Posted April 15, 2011 We live in the very last days because at any moment we could die and that would be the end of days for us. We must be ready and we must be ready NOW - not at some future point because Jesus is coming soon. Don't believe in the false idea that we have ANY time. Are you advocating that only in the sense that as mortals, we have an impending death, and as a result there is no reason for making an account for the signs of the time? I do agree with you that we must be ready at every moment to meet our savior, but I have difficulty understanding, if my assumptions are correct, that as an Adventist, it’s not a priority of yours to disseminate truth that Christ’s return is at hand. We are Adventist that by the will of God have been given the solemn responsibility since 1844 to declare to all creeds a loving message of separation from apostasy. It is a message that can only be justified in presenting a studious and comparative examination of holy writ and how it relates to our current situation. This is indeed difficult to do if we shut our eyes to prophetic fulfillment. In my humble opinion, it should be incumbent as Adventist to have an intrinsic need for spreading the testimony of Jesus – the prophetic word. This is the very reason of our establishment. Quote
Woody Posted April 15, 2011 Author Posted April 15, 2011 Thanks for your comments TR. Our message needs to be that there is NO time whatsoever. The Lord is coming but that is not an excuse to delay coming to Jesus. So often end time focus will give people the idea that they have some time and they can delay coming to Jesus. I just think our focus needs to be less on 'signs' and more on coming to Jesus NOW. We need to study Jesus rather than the signs that point to Him. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Woody Posted April 16, 2011 Author Posted April 16, 2011 Tex ... let me comment further regarding 'signs of the end'. Matt. 24 6-8 says "Such things must happen, but the end is still to come ... All these are the beginning of birth pains." We shouldn't be frightened to the cross. The cross should be sufficient. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Dr. Rich Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Woody, why is Jesus delaying His coming if all we need is faith and grace? Quote
Woody Posted April 16, 2011 Author Posted April 16, 2011 The battle of the Great Controversy is to be finished Dr. Rich. Jesus must be vindicated. And when that is accomplished HE WILL COME. I can't know what is needed or why it must take so long. I don't pretend to know. But I know that Jesus will be shown to be just. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won.
