Stan Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 This is the short version, So often I have heard that we must defend other religiously liberty rights for one day we may need that, and often the quote is made about 'I did not stand up for them, and there was no one left to stand up for me' etc. I say HOGWASH.. We need to stand up for other rights, not for a self-serving objective, but because it is the right thing to do. Anything less is self serving and involves no charity. Gordon1 Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Agreed Stan, and charity begins at home. Especially for those whistleblowers within Adventism who report corruption. They deserve protection for maintaining fidelity to God's principles. But usually they are squashed, fired or blacklisted. Think of M.L. Andreasen, Claudia Burrows or David Dennis, former SDA world church auditor. Jones & Waggoner were marginalized for their 1888 message. Ellen White was shipped off to Europe, then Australia. There is little tolerance for the straight message among the majority. But yes Stan, following the Truth is the right thing to do. Even the latest Adventist news smacks of fiscal misconduct, but without rebuke: Adventist leaders stress follow-up in unresolved audit findings, transparency in administration: http://news.adventist.org/2011/04/adventist-leaders-st.html Same old, same old hogwash. How the angels long for Truth. Quote
