Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted April 23, 2011 Members Posted April 23, 2011 One of my many ponderings: do angels breathe? My hunch is "yes"... they talk, and how could a being talk without breathing. So does God breathe? Absolutely...He *must*... didn't He create Adam's living being by "breathing" into Adam's nostrils? So I'm wondering if humans really *were* made in the "image of God".. maybe God looks like us more than some think He does. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted April 23, 2011 Administrators Posted April 23, 2011 Interesting question to ponder! It does create an interesting dilemma from a traditional standpoint of where heaven is and the space between. If heaven, where angels call home is somewhere out there in far distant space, do they hold their breath, since there is no air in space, when traveling from there to here? The extra-dimensional perspective of heaven would solve that dilemma since there is here already. ( Didn't Jesus say so?) Moving between dimensions in a heartbeat wouldn't be so breath-taking. Now that raises another question, in the dimension of heaven, is the air purer than here? Is it spring-time there? Does pollen in the spring time air make angels sneeze? Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. (And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)

Parade Orange Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 i came upon some tapes years ago from THE SDA church about angels and i dont remember much but one thing did stand out in my mind is that angels dont like they way we smell when we eat unclean meat! Quote All progress in the Spiritual Life is knowing and Loving GOD"there is non upon earth that I desire besides YOU" PS 73:25That perspective changes EVERYTHING-suffering and adversity are the means that makes us hungry for GOD. Disapointments will wean us away wordly occupations. Even sin(when repented of) becomes a mechanism to push us closer to HIM as we experience His Love and Forgiveness.
Ellen Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 This makes me think of those people raised at Jesus' resurrection - there is no questions asked of them recorded in the bible. Were they breathing? The bible leaves out so many things. Journalism was not developed as it is now! Quote
