Administrators Gail Posted April 23, 2011 Administrators Posted April 23, 2011 What, if anything, does that mean to you? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
teresaq Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 God's character, first and foremost...but then do we see God as the pagans did, basically a giant with superpowers that had the human mentality and disposition? Or as a completely "alien" Being that we need to study and learn of? Quote facebook. /teresa.quintero.790
Sonny Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 What, if anything, does that mean to you? Clearly His agape love. I'll give you one Bible quote & one Ellen White quote: Ex 33:18 And he [Moses] said [to the Lord], Show me, I pray thee, thy glory. 19 And he [the Lord] said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee It will be seen that the glory shining in the face of Jesus is the glory of self-sacrificing love. In the light from Calvary it will be seen that the law of self-renouncing love is the law of life for earth and heaven; that the love which "seeketh not her own" has its source in the heart of God; and that in the meek and lowly One is manifested the character of Him who dwelleth in the light which no man can approach unto. [DA 20] Quote
Woody Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 God's glory is a corresponding ring or circle of radiance surrounding His head or sometimes completely around His entire body. I am sure His glory surrounded Him when He appeared to Moses. I suspect that the angels also have this radiance of Light when they appear to humans. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
miz3 Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 To all, Psalm chapter 19 states how God's glory is known and seen by every human who has ever lived, who is currently living, and who will yet live. Quote
Administrators Gail Posted April 25, 2011 Author Administrators Posted April 25, 2011 I am currently doing a study of the earthly sanctuary, and if you counted God's presence in the wilderness/Shekinah within the sanctuary as showing His glory, it is interesting to follow the process to God's glory, walking through the camp towards it: -outside the camp was the wilderness - then the mixed multitude - then the 12 tribes of Israelties, those of God's by heritage (corporately) - one step closer were the Levites who maintained the sanctuary - then a BIG space of 2/3 mile to get to the sanctuary - courtyard - first compartment - Holy of holies - Shekinah, hovering over the mercy seat/ark It's like a path to holiness which illuminates more and more as the rising sun toward the brightness of the day Is that how it is with our experience, too? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
rabbitman777 Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Rom. 3:23) "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." (1 John 3:4) Sinning is synonymous to falling short of the glory of God and sin is transgression of God's law therefore, the glory is His law where all have fallen from. "The glory is departed from Israel: for the ark of God is taken." (1 Sam. 4:22) Quote Rabbitman777
Sonny Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Sinning is synonymous to falling short of the glory of God and sin is transgression of God's law therefore, the glory is His law where all have fallen from. The law is mere letters written in stone....There's no glory in it! 2 Cor 3:7 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.
