Administrators Gail Posted April 29, 2011 Administrators Posted April 29, 2011 Not all went happily to those people-watchers who enjoy fashion events like royal weddings. I like the headline on this article: Bea and Eugenie strike again! I can't stop looking... and don't know whether to laugh or cry Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Amelia Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Yep, I saw lots of very ugly hats, etc. I thought this was a wedding, not Ascot. aldona Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 I think there is some kind of protocol about the dress code for royal weddings - the ladies have to wear something on their heads. Hence the disapproving tone of the article when it talked about one female guest turning up at Westminster Abbey bare-headed. There are truly some bold and innovative outfits there. Now, can someone please pass the eye-bleach? Liz Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 I thought that both Princess Beatrice and Eugenie looked like they stepped out of a Dr. Seuss story. Moderators Nan Posted April 30, 2011 Moderators Posted April 30, 2011 I have seen a couple of comments on the York ladies outfits... "They look like the two ugly sisters" "They have inherited their mother's fashion sense" on my FB page....but I like the Dr Seuss comment much better. :) Quote
ClubV12 Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 I like it! It makes me chuckle and thats a good thing. While I personally would never wear a "wild" tie to church, I gotta admit, I get a kick out of it when someone else does AND were able to get a chuckle out of it. Christianity should be fun, so it's important to keep a proper perspective on things. Solemn, respectful, proper at the right time and at the afternoon pot luck, lighten up already! Enjoy the fellowship, have a good time, praise the Lord and admire that tie, or hat... :) Quote
Administrators Gail Posted April 30, 2011 Author Administrators Posted April 30, 2011 "They have inherited their mother's fashion sense" I commented along that line also to someone today- that they are their mother's daughters :) Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

I just have the feeling that the wedding was not the afternoon potluck If the girls wish to make a name for themselves I guess wearing strange headgear is one option. I don't think they are breaking any major law except those of good taste. Quote
Moderators Bravus Posted April 30, 2011 Moderators Posted April 30, 2011 My favourite quote about Beatrice's hat was that even Lady Gaga had refused it. Quote Truth is important
Members phkrause Posted April 30, 2011 Members Posted April 30, 2011 My favourite quote about Beatrice's hat was that even Lady Gaga had refused it. So than in my book if Lady Gaga had a problem with the hat, than Beatrice has just gotten my respect. Lady gaga has nothing on her. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

Administrators Gail Posted May 1, 2011 Author Administrators Posted May 1, 2011 Talking about royal wedding fashion... Anyone noticing how bald Wills is getting? Like his grandfather and Edward... :( Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

I gotta think about that one... Lets put it this way, Lady GAGA has no sense of fashion in my book. If trying to look naked at every turn is fashion than I guess I didn't know that. Administrators Gail Posted May 2, 2011 Author Administrators Posted May 2, 2011 I tend not to notice the nudity (yes, it bothers me, too) but the knobs, hair, etc. The evil skeleton stuff turns me off, too. You are right, though about keeping covered up. The young princesses have better sense in that regard. They just need to get some help regarding colour, fit and taste.
