Guest Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 Was it a real bird with real feathers that decended from heaven and landed on Jesus's shoulder? Quote

It was not a smelling bird with feathers/feet/beak & such. "He pleads with the Father for power to overcome their unbelief, to break the fetters with which Satan has enthralled them, and in their behalf to conquer the destroyer. He asks for the witness that God accepts humanity in the person of His Son. {DA 111.6} Never before have the angels listened to such a prayer. They are eager to bear to their loved Commander a message of assurance and comfort. But no; the Father Himself will answer the petition of His Son. Direct from the throne issue the beams of His glory. The heavens are opened, and upon the Saviour's head descends a dovelike form of purest light,--fit emblem of Him, the meek and lowly One. {DA 112.1} ------------------------ What must heaven think of those on the earth that think there is virtue in showing a picture of a featherd bird as a "fit emblem of Him, the meek and lowly One"? NO!. "The heavens are opened, and upon the Saviour's head descends a dovelike form of purest light". SEE {DA 112.1} Quote
Amelia Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 Im sure they dont think badly of us. Humans dont/cant comprehend the majesty of anything heavenly. Humans, when confronted with something "alien" will try to place it in the scope of their world. I think thats why heavenly beings are depicted with glowing halos. Guest Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 Stan but cold hard facts as stated above mean little to those determined to use the bird with wings/feet/feathers/beak as their mascot thinking there is virtue in displaying such, & bring them closer to heaven. "A person convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still." I've seen some of that! Quote
