Woody Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Quote: "The books of heaven record the sins that would have been committed had there been opportunity." [5BC 1085] Is this fair? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Sonny Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Quote: "The books of heaven record the sins that would have been committed had there been opportunity." [5BC 1085] Is this fair? Yes, under the law. Believers have been delivered from under the law. Quote
ClubV12 Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Oh THATS an interesting quote. Very profound. It reminds me of several things. Like a "thought" can be counted as sin even if no action has been taken to follow through on the action. Another thought is that lieing can be lieing even when you speak the truth! A wave of the hand, a nod of the head, an statement cut short, a statement designed to mislead, could be a "lie"! God see's the heart, man see's the "wave of a hand" designed to mislead and draws an all together different conclusion as to the meaning of what was said. The "law" remains, always has, always will, it is the very foundation upon which we build our characters. The law says, "Don't lie", or you die! That's it, game over. :) Quote
Sonny Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Like a "thought" can be counted as sin even if no action has been taken to follow through on the action. All sin begins with a cherished thought. That's what it means to covet. Think about it, Satan has never murdered anyone. He brainwashes others to do it. So outwardly he is without sin. Quote

ClubV12 Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Satan is a mass murderer. Brain washing someone else to pull the trigger while you stand by will stand land BOTH of you in jail for murder! Of course if you think you have been "delivered from the law" so that murder is OK, I have this offer as counsel. Tell it to the Judge! :) Quote
Sonny Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Under law you are required to live Christ's selfless life. Since all have sinned and are continually failing to live Christ' life none of us better be under the law. To be under law means to, "obey and live" but if we sin, even one, then we must "die"! No one, I mean no one, will make it to heaven by the law. No one!!! Quote

ClubV12 Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Shall we then throw out the law because we believe it is impossible to keep? NOT!!! The law is our guide, Christ is our hope. We have our responsibility in this union. That is, "don't kill". Quote
Woody Posted May 14, 2011 Author Posted May 14, 2011 Quote: Shall we then throw out the law because we believe it is impossible to keep? That's really a childish response that cons use. We don't keep the law because we think we can perfectly keep it. We keep it because even in the smallest part ... it is best for us. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Musicman1228 Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 You are ONLY held accountable for the things you have DONE, not for what you MIGHT HAVE DONE. “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay everyone for what he has done." Rev. 22:12. Jesus did not say 'What you might have done given the opportunity'. Nowhere in the teachings or words of Jesus does this concept appear. That idea is Satanic, and is the main theme in the movie 'Minority Report', where they arrest people BEFORE they commit a crime. This is just one more example of where EGW is WRONG, and has given information that is counter to that which Jesus gave. "Choose you this day whom you will serve". Quote
Woody Posted May 14, 2011 Author Posted May 14, 2011 Woody, yup, that IS my point! Good. We will let it be your point. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Sonny Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 You are ONLY held accountable for the things you have DONE, not for what you MIGHT HAVE DONE. Sorry, under law, your motive and thoughts must be pure or you have had it. Quote

Our Prophet was entirely correct. Sin starts in the heart. And since we are ALL guilty. We ALL need the robe of Christ to cover our sins. It doesn't matter how many sins we have ... we still need His Robe. We are far more guilty than we could possible comprehend. We are not saved by one ounce of our good works. We are saved wholey and entirely upon the works that Jesus did on this earth. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

Then the following must be a lie: Matthew 5: 27 ¶Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. IOW's, you are already guilty of adultery when you think about it, even if you haven't had the opportunity to actually have had sex with that sexy woman. Methinks your idea of what sin is, is too small. Quote
ClubV12 Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 So the law says don't lie or murder. Without Christ we follow the civil law to avoid the penalty for perjury or murder. With Christ we follow the law because we see the beauty and love in it. Though we fail to keep all of it, we strive to keep all of it. And with Christs help, we accounted as doing so! True repentance AND reformation, again and again if that's what it takes, but not excuses because the law cannot be kept so we ignore it. Quote
Sonny Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 ...you are already guilty of adultery when you think about it, even if you haven't had the opportunity to actually have had sex with that sexy woman. Bingo. Quote
