SLAVE LAKE, Alta. - About 900 firefighters from Alberta and across Canada are now fighting the wildfires that have destroyed this northern Alberta town.

The fleet includes 100 helicopters and 20 air tankers, fighting out-of-control flames in several parts of the province.
