Proverbs 20:29, NKJV:

Quote:
The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord,

Searching all the inner depths of his heart

Interesting verse! What does it mean?

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

SDA's traditionally deny that man is a 3-part being. But the case can be made biblically for the following: I am a spirit, I have a soul and I live in a body.

The spirit is the eternal part of me that is "dead" until I am born-again in Jesus Christ. Jesus is in me and I in Him because we are spirits. My spirit is now perfect and sin free.

My soul is my mind, thoughts and reasoning.

My body is my carnal flesh which will be renewed at the rapture, the "snatching away" as Paul put it.

With that in mind the verse from Proverbs makes sense. Through my spirit Jesus has constant and complete access to me because our spirits occupy the same "space". He is in me and I in Him.

Jhn 14:20 "At that day you will know that I [am] in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

"You may not agree with everyone. But if you are an honest man, when someone says something you disagree with it’ll drive you to the Word. If you find out that you were wrong and change your thinking then you are the better for it. If you go to the Word and find out that you were right then you have been strengthened. But either way always go to the Word!!” Billye Brim
