Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted May 26, 2011 Administrators Posted May 26, 2011 I think she looks bored even when she is reading her own speeches... Moderators lazarus Posted May 26, 2011 Moderators Posted May 26, 2011 She's not bored she's dignified. The Queen isn't supposed to look engaged or exited, that's for commoners! Besides, she's been listening to speeches since Churchill, she's heard it and said it all. Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. Moderators lazarus Posted May 26, 2011 Moderators Posted May 26, 2011 Isn't that ageist? Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. Administrators Gail Posted May 26, 2011 Administrators Posted May 26, 2011 Isn't that ageist? In an affectionate sort of way :) Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Dr. Shane Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I think the note cards made the President look a little tacky. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted May 26, 2011 Members Posted May 26, 2011 LOL The Queen *does* seem bored...and yes, I agree, the note cards *were* tacky under the circumstances.. Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted May 27, 2011 Administrators Posted May 27, 2011 When the queen spoke earlier she was reading from a copy of her speech she was hold in her hand too. Dr. Shane Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 So they are both phonies. How ridiculous is that? Two people get together and read to each other remarks that other people wrote. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
CoAspen Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Interesting how we first look at things.....critical! They would be damned if it was off the cuff as well. Walking in others shoes, is it all that difficult? Quote
Dr. Shane Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 It doesn't have to be "off the cuff". People prepare for these things. I have such meetings all the time in my line of work and if I goof up, it can cost my company thousands of dollars. So I prepare and I go in prepared. I know my stuff. I know what to say. Regardless how the discussion goes, I know my subject and I do well because I am prepared. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity

But the President had to prepare for numerous presentations on that trip, with different public demands on his time at each stop. It was a good idea for him to use notes, so he didn't overlook anything he needed to say. Quote Jeannie

...Change is inevitable; growth is optional....
jasd Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Quote: I was told that Obama took 14 telepromters to Europe -this trip... Lest one thinks I joke – I do not; I actually heard this (though I allowed for the teensiest exaggeration) on national multimedia. However, I did not post this because of the absurdity of one needing 1 or 14 teleprompters to deliver a speech. I posted - to contrast this, ummm, extraordinary need v the simple cribs that our favorite Mama Grizzly utilizes in her palm. Quote: "Hello!!--you citizens of the 57 States of America!" The above bit of jest is provided to point up that those who bruit the intellect and qualification of the current POTUS (who made the actual 57 reference) whilst minimizing the Fab’ Mama Grizzly’s intellect are – ummm, really weird! Like, really, really, WEIRD! Oh yeah, the Queen seemed really bored… Peace! y'all Quote
