Raphael Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 There are three individuals in Bible history that have landmark events at their 30th years of age, Christ, David, & Joseph. While Abraham could be a further source as well. Joseph at a young (teen) age as David was abducted and betrayed by his own kin, sold as a slave into foreign land and went from the suppressed life of a slave down to prisoner and 'released' at his 30th age when he became Prime Minister of Egypt, with no further accounts of sin and suffering. David at a similar young (teen) age was anointed as Israelite King to be and progressed SLOWLY into trouble as fugitive of King Saul, living in the hills, caves till enemy holds. At the age of 30 he became King of Israel but the story does not end (which endears him to most of us) where he commits the a hideous murder and adultery... which 'puts him in prolonged period of suffering' which ended at his very old age. Christ, since birth was gifted with the spirit and had no documented accounts of suffering or continual progress of it until His age of 30 where he went into the desert for 40 days than later sweat blood in Gethsemane and had His culmination of suffering at Calvary. Why no additional accounts of prior suffering.. because He was to end His life at the pinnacle of his torment. Abraham had to wait 25 years for his promised son (Isaac).. but it was relevant or fair because it was not horridly agonizing, where he still had his wife and the company of his kinsmen. There is a pattern here that correlates with God's justice fairness which means that basically every saint (victor) will bear the exact same amount of suffering in terms of gender age and individual. Perhaps Bible masters can add more to reveal the pattern. So, for you brethren who's suffering the cup that bonds eternity (there's a verse to this that I can't recall), take heart that it has all been weighted and just, that there is no thing as someone suffering more... Of course, there is no such thing as by human might but solely by My might as He declares.. be not misled by these 'oftentimes subversive & unannounced tests'. Why by His might.. because fallen humanity has become too weak as Christ described as 'wounded from head to foot' and by EGW as 'too easy to forget'... So, what is that thing as His (sole) might? It could be His words hidden in one heart but I prefer the 'eluding' power of prayer that was counseled to be 'ceaseless'. Quote Test me with thy might but grant me safe passage. Now, who said that?
