Robert Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 First let's review the last six commandments of the moral law as found in Exodus 20:12-17 [5th] Honor your father and your mother. [6th] You shall not murder. [7th] You shall not commit adultery. [8th] You shall not steal. [9th] You shall not bear false witness. [10th] You shall not covet Now let's review Christ's statement to the young man in Matthew 19:18,19 [6th] You shall not murder, [7th] You shall not commit adultery, [8th] You shall not steal, [9th] You shall not bear false witness, [5th] Honor your father and mother, [?] You shall love your neighbor as yourself Please note that the 10th commandment has been replaced by, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself"....Why? Robert Posted April 2, 2005 Author Posted April 2, 2005 Quote: Why did Christ leave out, "You shall not covet"? He didn't!!! "You shall not covet" is the same as "you shall love your neighbor as you love yourself." Quote
