Both prophets delivered dire warnings of the sword, famine, and pestilence as punishment for disobedience, but all coming from God. What/where is the role of devil in all these? Quote

Job 1:9 "Does Job fear God for nothing?" Satan replied. 10 "Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. [satan to God] 11 But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face." [God to Satan] 12 The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger." Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD. 13 One day when Job's sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother's house, 14 a messenger came to Job and said, "The oxen were plowing and the donkeys were grazing nearby, 15 and the Sabeans attacked and carried them off. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!" 16 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, "The fire of God fell from the sky and burned up the sheep and the servants, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!" Now take the story above and compare it to the following: Deuteronomy 31:17 "Then My anger will be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them and hide My face from them, and they will be consumed, and many evils and troubles will come upon them; so that they will say in that day, 'Is it not because our God is not among us that these evils have come upon us?'" I think its a matter of reaping what they sowed Gerry. Its still something that we do today. Granted there are also great disasters today but mostly brought on by our own faults. The Bible refers to the devil as Abaddon (Heb) or Apollyon (Gk), both meaning - "the destroyer". But nowhere is Isaiah or Jeremiah did I see a hint of the devil acting the part of destroyer. The destruction brought on by sword, famine, or pestilence are all pictured as coming from God. Hence the question, where is the devil in all these? Quote
