Patrick Lawrence Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Hi all I am working on a new online Adventist magazine designed for non-Adventists. And I am looking for some people to write articles, proof read and maybe help with editor duties etc. The idea is to make a modern slick looking magazine that appeals to the modern busy individual. But without compromising any truth. Matter of fact I believe there is no reason to do so. People are hungry for the health message. They want to know how to live longer, how to feel better and be happier. They also are hungry for other Bible truths. They are interested in end time events. They are interested in Biblical ideas on debt. They want to know how to have peace in their lives and relieve stress etc etc. And I believe we have the answers for them. The range of subjectsis very wide and can include many things. For example.... Excercise Diet Health Issues Cooking Gardening Frugal Living Debt Management Time Management Stress Relief Book Reviews (The right books of course Retirement And much more. So if you are interested PM me and we can talk about it. Or if you have suggestions feel free to post theme here. Quote http://UROBI.com/

Patrick Lawrence Posted June 19, 2011 Author Posted June 19, 2011 Marriage & family life? Yes that kind of thing if done right would work. Testimonies? Not sure. Spray foam insulation articles? Hmmm if the saving are worth the cost of investment and if it really puts out fumes or not. Sounds like it might work. Quote http://UROBI.com/
Dr. Shane Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 How do you plan on getting the word out? Do you plan on advertising on Google, Facebook, Twitter? Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Patrick Lawrence Posted June 19, 2011 Author Posted June 19, 2011 Yes besides the normal work of building backlinks etc there will need to be some advertising. But really the more cost effective method is doing things that will help long term like back links instead of one time advertising campains. Quote http://UROBI.com/

olger Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Marriage & family life? Yes that kind of thing if done right would work. Testimonies? Not sure. Spray foam insulation articles? Hmmm if the saving are worth the cost of investment and if it really puts out fumes or not. Sounds like it might work. 1) Example. It adds $37 to the cost of a recent mortgage and saves $81 in energy (monthly). 2) Fumes during installation. Inert within 2-minutes. Joy to you, g Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Patrick Lawrence Posted June 20, 2011 Author Posted June 20, 2011 Olgar whats interesting is my brother is building a house and has decided to use spray foam. Matter of fact they are going to spray it in the next few days. By the way here is the magazine site it is just about ready to launch. Just need to fix up all the program pages with information about the programs. http://urobi.com/ Quote http://UROBI.com/
Gordon1 Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Spray foam urethane insulation does not seem to be inert as quickly as two minutes. In my own experience it will off-gas for months. I had a contractor use a well-recognized eco-style foam. Due to a plain diet I may be more sensitive to noxious chemistry (as many vegetarians are to medications), but the effects were disturbing. I've noticed similar reactions to the consumer spray foam cans. In hindsight, I'd have strong reservations about using this on a residence, unless it was to be vacant for a long period. Even then. Many are untroubled by caffeine, alcohol, food additives, environmental toxins, and are often placated by 'scientific studies' which show no danger. But the foam products do not pass the smell test for me. They have exceptional properties as insulation, but because of their widespread industrial application they may receive less scrutiny by safety regulators. I fear that blood analysis or neurological assessment of longtime contractors would show harmful effects. Quote
olger Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 You are apparently a rare sensitized individual, reacting to the iso in the foam. Stay away from plywood (OSB), it has the same isocyanates in it. Your experience represents about 100/th of a percent of population. The fact that you are reacting to Great Stuff™ tells me that you are chemically sensitized. I would guess that many things bother you, perfumes, odors, paints etc.. What constitutes long time? 28 years? Or more...? Spray foam has been used for over 40-years, and yes it becomes inert very rapidly. Especially closed cell foam. What is eco-style foam? Are you referring to tripolymer foam, that Canada has had some trouble with? questions.. questions.. oG Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Patrick Lawrence Posted June 25, 2011 Author Posted June 25, 2011 I agree you seem very sensitive to these things Gordon. But in general we are no surrounded by things that give of gasses etc. Might be a good reason to build a natural rock house or something. Then again that can give you higher doses of radation. Hmmn.
