This rabbi just had all of his remaining teeth pulled and new dentures were being made.

The first Shabbat, he only spoke for five minutes.

The second Shabbat, he spoke for ten minutes.

But, on the third Shabbat, he spoke for an hour and a half.

When asked about this by some of the congregation, he responded this way.

The first Shabbat, my gums were so sore it hurt to talk.

The second Shabbat, my gums felt better but my dentures were hurting so I spoke a bit longer.

The third Shabbat, I accidentally grabbed my wife's dentures... and I couldn't stop talking!

All progress in the Spiritual Life is knowing and Loving GOD

"there is non upon earth that I desire besides YOU" PS 73:25

That perspective changes EVERYTHING-suffering and adversity are the means that makes us hungry for GOD. Disapointments will wean us away wordly occupations. Even sin(when repented of) becomes a mechanism to push us closer to HIM as we experience His Love and Forgiveness.
