At the same time, city living can be stressful, and studies have found that mental health problems, such as schizophrenia, depression and anxiety disorders, are more common in urbanites... People who had been raised in a city, regardless of their current home, showed a different pattern: more activation in the perigenual anterior cingulate cortex (pACC), another region thought to be involved in emotion and social processing, and implicated in some studies on schizophrenia. John Cacioppo, a social neuroscientist at the University of Chicago who was not involved in the study, said he thinks the idea that city living increases the risk of mental illness by altering the brain’s sensitivity to social stress is worth pursuing. ClubV12 Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 It seems rather obvious that living in the city is more stressful than living in the country. What IS the country is worthy of consideration! I lived right in the heart of Waikiki, Oahu for a year or so. At first I thought it was great. A lot of excitement, bright lights, always something going on, never a dull moment. Then after while, all the lights, the constant noise, the nervous tension of a city that never sleeps became very annoying. So I move to the suburbs. Nice suburbs, gated community, very low crime, all the houses strictly regulated, manicured lawns. It wasn't long before I was "in violation" of some neighborhood ordinance. Leaving the trash can out to long, changing a tire on my car, my boy "caught" riding his skate board in the street, climbing a tree, jumping of the bridge into the ocean, playing music to loud. This list was long. Very stressful "government over sight". So I moved farther out to a "working class" neighborhood to avoid all the "rules". Rules are good, to some degree. I went from you can't work on your car to the neighbors with a junk yard in the back of the house. Motors hanging from tree limbs. Unattended yards. Very stressful neighbors. ...how I longed for the country and a little peace of mind. No doubt about it, you can't beat a country retreat! Quote

Forensics is historical science and we know that the wrong guy has been convicted due to bad forensic science. Operational science involves that which is observable, measurable and repeatable.
