Obama 'far apart' from Republicans on debt deal

Republicans, led by House Speaker John Boehner, have forcefully rejected a concerted Democratic push to raise taxes, notably on the richest earners and wealthy companies, charging his would smother job creation.

"We're not going to raise taxes on the very people that we expect to reinvest in our economy and to help grow jobs," Boehner said on Thursday before the talks.

It would help if Obama would be a little more honest.

The US will not default anymore than MN is.

Enough money is collected to service the debt. Maybe Obama should just quit his drunken spending.200 billion in revenues every month, $20 billion is the interest on the National Debt. I think we can cover the debt easily and Obama has 180 billion to squander

I will be impressed if the Republicans hold true to their campaign promises. Time will tell.
