DEFINITIONS Love- an intense emotion of regard and affection – God’s benevolent attitude toward man – man’s reverent attitude of devotion Worship- reverent honor and homage, regard, adoration (towards our amazing God) Prayer- a devout petition; a spiritual communion with God as an object of supplication, thanksgiving, adoration or confession as an act of worship Faith- confidence, trust without visible proof or evidence – with allegiance Obedience- (obey) to comply, follow, conform to command, restrictions, requests, instructions, wishes Patience- suppressing annoyance when confronted with delay; quiet, steady perseverance, diligence Longsuffering- long and patient endurance of injury, trouble, provocation Works- exertion, effort directed to produce, accomplish a task Walk- to follow a certain course or way of life; move toward, to advance Fruitful- producing growth, beneficial, profitable, prolific Honor- praise, distinction, exalt with triumph, source of awe--- thanksgiving, adoration, worship Testimony- statement or declaration of a witness under oath, affirmation support of fact, deposition – receptacle of covenant, revelation of God’s will or presence Born Again- commitment to faith through religious experience Meekness- submissive, compliant, humbly patient, longsuffering, gentleness Gentleness- meek, mild, gentle; absence of violent reaction, harshness Joy- emotion of delight, happiness; source of gaiety, contentment Peace- state or relationship of concord, non-belligerence, not at war, maintain order Goodness- moral excellence, preference to right over evil, wrong Godliness- religious, saintly, holy, righteous, good, pious, devout 1 Timothy 3:16; 4:8; 2 Peter 1:6 Morality- virtuous conformity to rules of righteous conduct, quality of character Diligence- constant, consistent earnest effort, proper attention, steady careful application Kindness- quality of being kind, favor behavior, considerate malevolence Thanksgiving- grateful acknowledgement of benefits and favors, divine kindness -act of giving thanks, a celebration Power- ability to act, strength, might, force, sustain energy, sovereignty Strength- power, vigor, force (moral power, firmness, courage) -inherit capacity to manifest energy, endurance, resistance Might- superior power, strength, force; capacity to accomplish Knowledge- awareness of facts, truths, principals from study or investigation -discernment, comprehension, understanding Understanding- comprehension, interpretation, intelligence, discernment -ability to learn, judge, make decisions Wisdom- understanding, enlightenment- quality of truth and righteousness -godly insight, discernment Mercy- forbearance- compassionate, discretionary pardon -Christian grace for atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, our incredible Lord and Savior Counsel- opinion of judgment of conduct, deliberate, advise -exchange advice, ideas, opinions Blessing- special favor, mercy, benefit (gift from God) consecrate, sanctify - bestow good, approval, good wishes Riches- wealth, abundant valuable assets, possessions, resources, means; powerful Temperance- habitual moderation; total abstinence Fear- apprehension, terror, alarm, trepidation; painful, emotional experience Awe- an overwhelming feeling of reverence, admiration towards that which is grand, powerful Revelation- God’s disclosure of Himself and His will, unveiling Glory- very great praise, honor, distinction, admiration— -worshipful thanksgiving, especially to our amazing, incredible Father and His Son Salvation- act of saving from harm, risk, loss, destruction; --freedom from the effects of the fall of man; ushering man into presence of God Overcome- to prevail over in conflict with opposition, temptation Victory- triumph over enemy, a conquest Sharing- to distribute, divide; take part in ownership or knowledge of another; -to give, offer one’s possession Teaching- to communicate precepts or doctrines with others; to inform, enlighten, tutor, train; - impart information Witness-see, hear, know, testify,testimony,observe, confirmation, substaniation Bible-Study- an effort, application to cultivate Bible facts, truths; an examination of the Scripture for the mind to acquire knowledge of God’s will for life as set down by inspiration – a daily obligation for all - John 17:3 – this is eternal life, to intimately know the Father and the Son Quote Striving for a better relationship with Him!
