I believe it entirely possible that Obama would hold back SS checks and medicare etc if he can possibly do so.

There is the money coming in to pay that and the interest on the debt but Obama and cronies will figure out a way to have the purse strings.

Since the government has been borrowing money from the Social Security trust fund, it takes priority over other government obligations. It is highly unlikely that Social Security checks will not go out.

It looks like President Obama is losing in the court of public opinion. I think something that is really coming to light is that Obama doesn't know how to compromise. He is coming across as an extremist whose pride is getting in his way of doing what is best for the country. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
