Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted August 7, 2011 Members Posted August 7, 2011 Fascinating story of Jamie DeWolf's great grandfather, L. Ron Hubbard... Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Parade Orange Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 ty rudywoofs! that was funny entertaining and informative Quote All progress in the Spiritual Life is knowing and Loving GOD"there is non upon earth that I desire besides YOU" PS 73:25That perspective changes EVERYTHING-suffering and adversity are the means that makes us hungry for GOD. Disapointments will wean us away wordly occupations. Even sin(when repented of) becomes a mechanism to push us closer to HIM as we experience His Love and Forgiveness.
LifeHiscost Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 left&logo.hide=false&controlbar.position=over"></object> I did find it amazing, and was enthralled as I heard what is probably the truth about scientology which I had always wondered where and what part it played in last day events. Hopefully its' affect will be an eyeopener to the generation of young today. God blesses! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
Dottie Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 The presentation had an air of strangeness about it, but when he got to the BiPolar part, it was understandable. Quote

Moderators Gerr Posted October 30, 2011 Moderators Posted October 30, 2011 The first time I ever read anything in Dianetics/Scientology, it sounded strange/weird to me, so I never paid much attention to it. I wonder what Tom Cruise or John Brodie and the rest think of DeWolf's revelation. Quote
cardw Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 The first time I ever read anything in Dianetics/Scientology, it sounded strange/weird to me, so I never paid much attention to it. I wonder what Tom Cruise or John Brodie and the rest think of DeWolf's revelation. It's not so much the writing that draws people in. It's the initial truth telling process that initiates do with a sponsor. L. Ron Hubbard took some insights of the human potential movement and adapted them to manipulation. He may have even adapted parts of the 12 step process as well. He figured out that when people first learn to get past their fear of self revelation there is an euphoria as people are freed from hiding those things that fill them with shame. In Christian terms this would be considered confession. Instead of teaching people to be self sufficient, he used this bond he was creating to manipulate and control. By establishing a hierarchy of advancement he was able to extend his influence as the gate keeper of this experience. He didn't need to create physical barriers because lies essentially establish internal barriers once you gain the confidence and belief of a person. And if you can get them to accept nonsense as answers through authority and manipulation you remove any way out. This is one reason that I continue to point people to reason instead of authority. Reason is rooted in the observable and allows people to become self sufficient. It is an inoculation against this type of manipulation. Quote Rich http://tiny.cc/CM2j8
Moderators John317 Posted November 3, 2011 Moderators Posted November 3, 2011 ... Reason is rooted in the observable and allows people to become self sufficient. It is an inoculation against this type of manipulation. But teaching people they can be totally self-sufficient is also a lie and a type of manipulation. You're right that people should be taught to be self-sufficient, but it's a lie to to teach them that they don't need God or anything outside of themselves. More than likely, everything you have-- such as food and clothing and the roof over your head-- wouldn't be yours without other people. Yes, you also worked for those things, but who or what gives you life and health and strength so you can do the work? The laws of health and of the universe didn't make themselves. People can't make plants grow or give animals life-- only God can do those things. People can water the plants and feed the animals, but it is God who makes the plants grow and gives life to all living creatures. The Bible teaches that everything alive on earth today owes its life to the sacrifice of Christ on the cross. To this degree, even those who reject God are continually being blessed by the gifts of God. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
