Members abelisle Posted August 14, 2011 Members Posted August 14, 2011 I'm 63 today. So, I ran for 63 minutes (5+ miles). In the rain. Waves crashing along the breakfront of the shores of Lake Erie. With a hawk for company. What better birthday gift could a man ask for! Here's my challenge for all my running friends: can you run your age for a 10K? It gets easier the older you are Alex Quote We are our worst enemy - sad but true. http://abelisle.blogspot.com
Moderators Gerr Posted August 14, 2011 Moderators Posted August 14, 2011 I had just come in after walking 1 hr. Until 10 days ago, I was walking/jogging for 1 hr 6/7 days. Then I pulled my rt calf muscle and had to stop the jogging. Hey, how about doing push-ups half the number of your age? Quote
Planey Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 how about doing push-ups half the number of your age? So long as it is my mental age... Graeme Quote Graeme____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
teresaq Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Given that statement I'd say your mental age is quite high. :) Quote facebook. /teresa.quintero.790
Administrators Gail Posted August 15, 2011 Administrators Posted August 15, 2011 I would love to, I used to run a lot and love it. Nowadays, though, my allergies prevent me from doing much of anything outdoors except walk the dog close to home. Alex, BTW Kevin did a triathlon this past weekend :) Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Members abelisle Posted August 15, 2011 Author Members Posted August 15, 2011 Gail, Do I know Kevin? Does he post on this site? If so, I'd love to read a race summary from his triathlon. Alex Quote We are our worst enemy - sad but true. http://abelisle.blogspot.com
Administrators Gail Posted August 15, 2011 Administrators Posted August 15, 2011 He's my kid and I believe that you two are Facebook friends :) Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

olger Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I stink at distance running. Can we do chinups instead? :) Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Moderators Gerr Posted August 16, 2011 Moderators Posted August 16, 2011 Hmmmmm. Seems nobody would take me up on the push-ups. Quote
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted August 16, 2011 Members Posted August 16, 2011 I stink at distance running. Can we do chinups instead? I mis-read your first sentence. I thought you wrote, "I stink at a distance running." sorry...my warped sense of humor coming to the foreground again... Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
