Gethsemane

Theres been a lot of talk in various threads concerning the nature of Christ. I've been thinking about that, here's my take on it.

The 144,000 will each face their own Gethsemane moment, alone, individually. When they stand before God without an intercessor, but what does that mean? Jesus felt that way, alone, forsaken even of the Father, only by faith could He persevere.

Of course the Father did not abandon Him, but Jesus could not sense His presence. It was as if there was no "intercessor", no heavenly, no earthly support of any kind.

When we face this time we will still be able to chose to sin? Yes, we could, but we won't. The decision will have been made before we come to that point of no intecessor. We have already made the choice to put away sin, not "to get to heaven" but because we are standing for the truth. To vindicate the character of God's law, we would rather die, even with no reward, than dishonor our God. Like a soldier who would chose death to defend his country, no reward is offered, it's just the right thing to do. It HAS to be done, choice is there, but it's not an option.

Jesus could have made a choice to abandon death, but the fact is, it was simply not an option. To do other than duty demanded was unthinkable.

In that respect, He was no different than us, choice was always available, will always remain available. The 144,000 will come to the same place at some point, their own personal Gethsemane moment. We will be imbued with something, I don't know how to descibe it, from the Father when the time comes. Just like Jesus had, a determination, a faith, that cannot be shaken, no matter what the trial may be. And it WILL be a trial! Even though probation has closed, even though we are sealed, the evil doer's rage will be unleashed and we will feel the full fury of it. Like Jesus did, in Gethsemane. Thus, bearing a testimony to this world and all of heaven the law CAN be kept, perfecttion IS possible for humanity.

Call it a "miracle" if you want, but it won't happen until we have come to that place in our mind, before hand, that we must follow Jesus no matter what. It is then, we will receive the power of FAITH to cling to Him while everything around us is burning, falling, swallowed up, crumbling and we stand alone. Alone in every conceivable way, without an intercessor, as if the Father and Jesus have withdrawn from us. But like Jacob, we will hold on and by faith claim His blessing.

Thanks for the tip on EW Sky, that was a good read.

We hear a lot about the second coming as a thief in the night. More to the point though, the time of trouble will come like a thief in the night. When we see the Sunday law passed, for many of us, it will already be to late. Your choice, by your daily actions, will have already been before that sign of the times.

And I know of a statement that says that when probation closes, that is when Jesus comes as a thief in the night.

Good post! Yes, as we are facing things such as the potential death of the seas, for example all the plastic in the middle of the pacific larger than North America, that all the nations are saying "It's not my responsibility" and global heating start to reach a climax and the final antichrist is seen as the solution to these deady problems and Satan impersonates Christ encouraging the system, saying the same words as Jesus said, and other demons impersonate our lived ones and also probably people like Paul, Luther, Wesley, and Mrs. White, we are going to feel that we are wrong. As we deal with the issues with the Bible and Fundamentalism that would be similar to what Walter Rea did with Mrs. White, As we say "I'm sorry but Jesus is really Satan" and we hear him say with tears in his eyes "Can Satan cast out Satan?" we are going to feel that we are lost.

As we hold on to the Bible despite it not being the book that the Fundamentalists expect it to be, especially when we have demons posing as the Bible writers running around and telling us what we should really believe, we are going to believe that we are lost. We are going to believe that we have rejected Jesus, but we will still follow God even though we expect to be lost.

Such a "HUMAN CENTRIC" view of things. In your post God is only an incidental bystander looking on.

You make GLORY FOR THE HUMAN ONLY. God is not glorified because God does nothing but sit and watch. It is all about the Human and what greatness the Human endures. How magnificent the Human is to withstand this "tremendous pressure" without any support whatsoever!

Only human power without the aid of Divine Power while enduring all the gates of hell arrayed against them.

Your gospel here gives all glory to the human because they do it all on their own. No glory to God because God sits there and does absolutely nothing.

Such "HUMAN CENTRIC" theology is NOT BIBLICAL!
