Amelia Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Daniel Craig 'the next James Bond' Apr 6 2005 icseftonandwestlancs.icnetwork.co.uk []http://images.icnetwork.co.uk/upl/icliverpool/oct2004/9/6/000054CE-3070-115D-A19D80C328EC0000.jpg[/] Actor Daniel Craig is to be the next James Bond, it has been reported. He has been offered a three-film deal by producer Barbara Broccoli, according to The Sun. Craig, 37, starred in the gangster film Layer Cake. The newspaper said he had been competing with fellow British actor Clive Owen to take over from Pierce Brosnan. However, Owen had told casting agents he did not want the job as he feared it might limit his career. Other names mentioned at different times in connection with the 007 role have included Eric Bana, Jude Law, Heath Ledger, Ewan McGregor, Dougray Scott and Australian Hugh Jackman. Moderators Bravus Posted April 7, 2005 Moderators Posted April 7, 2005 Yeah, Hugh is a great actor and (as far as it's possible to tell these things from the media) a pretty decent guy too, devoted to his wife and interesting in learning and philosophy more than in Hollywood partying. One of my favourite quotes ever comes from him: "A man's not a real man until he can be trusted by a woman". Daniel Craig is a very good actor too - saw him in the film 'Sylvia' about poet Sylvia Plath. Not that I even care that much about James Bond movies... Quote Truth is important
Ron Lambert Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Daniel Craig does not have the standout good looks of an actor like Pierce Brosnan--but then a real spy should look average, someone who would readily blend into a crowd unremarked. Not that the James Bond movies are necessarily aiming for realism, of course. Quote
Neil D Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Many years ago, I read Ian Flemings books with James Bond in them...From what I remember, Sean Connery and Pierce Brosman protray the character the best according to the books.... Just my opinion to fuel the postings... Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw
