But I'll guess either a) to get to the other side, to go see their relatives at Christmas, c) because Bethlehem had the nearest hospital, or d) because there was a prophecy they wanted to fulfill. But it just happened to take place when Jesus was to be born. It makes me wonder if maybe behind the scenes Satan gathered up all the family of David into Bethlehem in order to round the babies all up and then inspire Herod on with his horrible command to kill them all. I do believe God has a hand in history. It's just a thought that perhaps Satan plays bigger games than merely with individual lives.
