Green Cochoa Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Jeroboam split off with ten of the tribes when Solomon's son Rehoboam unwisely spoke harshly with the people. Rehoboam retained just two of the tribes, Judah and Benjamin. Jeroboam prevented the people in the ten tribes from returning to Jerusalem to worship, and set up golden calves in Bethel and in Dan for the people to worship instead.
