And that's saying that even Michele B couldn't win either. We'd than be assured of a woman president. Any thoughts? For all the talk of some militant feminists,if they really wanted a woman president we would have had one long ago. More women voters than men. What I've found is that women voters, or at least the ones I know, decide on emotions. In other words if they don't like the way you look or act, they want nothing to do with you. I could be wrong but that's what I've seen or heard from most if not all the women I know. I'd say they vote that way about the men also. I know anytime I've talked with my Mom she always didn't like Bush and when I'd ask her why, she'd say I don't like the way he looks!! I'm pretty sure that all women don't vote that way. If true, that would sure be funny and strange. Might show that people are subconsciously (or even consciously, for some people) voting according to looks. LOL With Clinton surviving in office after entertaining Monica I personally think women should have had to fight the battle to be able to vote again. If it were not for silly women swooning over the thought of being in Monica's position he would have been out. If Obama was 5'2" and 275 lbs with buck teeth and glasses that looked like coke bottles do you think he would be president today? Take his telepromter away and who could stand listening to him? Because I don't really see the candidates ever really talk about the issues. All they do is knock the person in office and each other. So what do they have to go by? I think men tend to study the candidates' positions and ideas more, whereas women go more by "intuition" or their feelings about the candidate. Of course there are exceptions to this, and I know there are men who also are swayed by their feelings about the candidates. I don't deny that I am somewhat influenced by a man's looks when it comes to voting, but I am the type who studies all the positions of a candidate. My wife can't vote because she's not a citizen yet, but when we talk about a candidate on TV, she always talks first about how he looks. For instance, she'll remark about how he looks "bad," etc. And when I say, no, that guy is good, she will look skeptical on the basis of how he appears. All my daughters are the same way. My son, on the other hand, is much more into studying a candidate's positions. As a kid, I never remember seeing my mom reading the paper, etc., in order to find out the views of a candidate, but I remember my father doing it a lot. However, my oldest sister (unlike my youngest) pays a lot of attention to candidates' positions. I'm very disappointed in President Obama. I remember thinking when I first saw him in Iowa that he could be another President Kennedy. But I found out quickly that Obama is no John Kennedy. Not even close. I guess it is unfair to make a comparison. President Kennedy was such a great public speaker, even without notes. He hardly ever read anything. He was amazingly witty and gracious when talking to the press, too.
