Charity Begins at Church

After the church service, seven year old Brian said to the preacher: 'When I grow up, I'm going to give you some money.'

'Well, thank you', the preacher replied, 'but why?'

'Because my daddy says that you're one of the poorest preachers we've ever had.'

Oh, that was sad!

My goodness, Bravus, are you the mod here? Would someone have a hard time figuring that out, (noticing below the submit button )

I know this is the humor section--that's why it seemed funny that Bravus was underlined as mod 7 times, now 8! Maybe it was 8 last night too.

The story struck me as sad even tho it was meant to be funny because I was thinking how the poor pastor must have felt.

You probably have to be Canadian to recognize it is a joke and get a laugh.

That's a good joke to Americans, too. Probably also to Brits and New Zealanders.:-)

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Because if it's serious, it's really sad.

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

That may not have come out quite the way you wanted. In other words it came across as Canadians maybe not having feelings for what another might feel, since that was the context of my thought. :)

One sermon reaches one listener one way and another in a very different way.

Last Sabbath my husband said when is the pastor going to "feed the flock" with the obvious meaning.

Another member mentioned to me how much she got out of the same sermon, and was "fed"!

God knows what He is doing.

Sometimes people overanalyze things. My husband is one who has to be explained a joke. The ones he tells are ones you heard in third grade...
