Strange Amber Alert

Last week 3 yr. old Kienan Hebert was taken from his family's home in British Columbia, allegedly by a man with a police record. An Amber Alert ensued in the U.S. & Canada, hundreds of volunteers were mobilized. 60 RCMP officers on the case. Roadblocks, a ferry search, false sightings far away. Then on Sunday the boy was returned to his empty home at 3 AM, a sealed crime scene. An "anonymous 911 call" alerted police to the boy's return, though the area that was closed by roadblock. Now he's back playing with his siblings as if nothing happened. The aftermath is parties and happiness all around. The health assesment was given on the spot by the police, no medical intervention was cited. Urgency to find the 'perpitrator' seems to have vanished.

These cases often end tragically, but this one is a mystery.

Finally! I'm sure glad that no harm came to the boy.

It's a very odd story. The boy was returned to his empty unlocked house at 3AM. The police found him asleep thanks to a mysterious 9/11 call. (No tracing?) Though 60 officers were on the case, and hundreds of volunteer searchers, no evidence has been given to connect the boy and the alleged suspect.

And the whole area was roadblocked.

He's already been condemned as the kidnapper in the media and by the father, but no evidence. Nor was there mention of any medical concern for the boy - he was playing with his siblings the next morning. No checkup, just a family party.

The police are not talking - testy with reporters. It appears to have been orchestrated. Police dogs were on the suspect's trail "for the past week", yet no sign of his car despite an Amber Alert.

Both police & the parents are acting strangely for the circumstances, criticizing the court system, etc. The government (Conservative right wing) is introducing a massive Tough on Crime bill this fall with pledges to build mega-prisons despite Canada's falling crime rate.

Does 'mega prison camps' ring a bell for anyone?

Yes, the whole matter WAS bizarre! I'm interested in discovering the end of this story!

They never show any hint or evidence that the guy they were chasing did the crime.

That is kind of odd.
