barnz Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 This book is an adventist answer book. The author I'm pretty sure is famous among adventists. It pretty much gives answers to common questions that are asked to specifically adventists or to christians in general. It has points on what questions to ask to certain faiths, whether they are baptist, or buddhist, or muslim, hindu, etc. It is a little booklet style book. Do you guys have any idea what I'm talking about? Quote
Moderators John317 Posted September 19, 2011 Moderators Posted September 19, 2011 Yes. It is probably a book by Mark Finley, who used to be the speaker on It Is Written. The book is called Studying Together, A Manual of Bible References. At least that is the Spanish title. I can't find my English original. I'm sure that's the book you're talking about. There are others, but this is the best known. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Outta Here Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Hehehe. I was just going to say the same book! Try: http://www.adventistbookcenter.com/Detail.tpl?sku=187804608X Quote
Moderators John317 Posted September 19, 2011 Moderators Posted September 19, 2011 Excellent. Thanks for posting that. barnz Posted September 19, 2011 Author Posted September 19, 2011 Oh thank you so much, I think that is exactly what I was looking for (btw, is that author famous among adventists?) I actually just recently converted to be an adventist actually. I'm not baptized yet though. I just recently moved to a new area for school and a member of the new church I'm going to showed me his copy and it seemed very interesting. Thanks again. Quote
Moderators John317 Posted September 19, 2011 Moderators Posted September 19, 2011 Yes, he is very well known, mostly as the speaker on It Is Written, a TV program. He is no longer the speaker on it, but he was the speaker for a long time. Also, of course, he has written a number of very good books, such as the one you asked about. That's a very good and practical book. Perhaps you can get it online if you want to. I'm so happy for you and thank God for your decision to follow Christ and become a Seventh-day Adventist. You'll find SDAs on this Forum, but you will also find people who are non-Christian as well as non-SDA and even some who are anti-SDA. I will be praying for you and for the people you "meet" on ClubAdventist. I pray that your experience here will strengthen your confidence in Christ and in the Bible. Good to have you here, and pray that you have a wonderful experience. There are many wonderful people here, christian and non-christian, adventist and non-adventist. Each of us just trying to find our way through life with our Lord and Savior, and some without.
