My man does not want a wedding band as well - and I am sure he has the same reason as you Overaged. In other point, to many women the outer appearance and being fat does not matter if the person is loaded with money and is able to sweep them off with luxury - temporal things. When I hear people boasting about how educated they are, how much money they have or how big their house is and etc, I normally tune off - unless if of course I asked for a specific reason.
