Dr. Shane Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 October is coming, Holloween and the holidays... Are you getting excited? Any planned activities? Local church doing anything special? Our church will be having a Fall Festival but we won't be able to go because we are going on a camporee with the Adventurers. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Moderators Bravus Posted September 30, 2011 Moderators Posted September 30, 2011 We always have a party at our place with our kids' friends. Costumes compulsory. Always a lot of fun, and pretty mellow, just food and chatting, maybe movies, a little musics, pretty low key. And we know where they are and what they're doing, and get to meet their friends. It's all good. (Most Aussies don't 'do' Halloween, but our Canadian-raised girls like to dress up and make pumpkin pie!) Quote Truth is important
Moderators Bravus Posted September 30, 2011 Moderators Posted September 30, 2011 Alex makes a mean vegan pumpkin pie for those who prefer, too. Quote Truth is important

Our church will be having a Fall Festival but we won't be able to go because we are going on a camporee with the Adventurers. I am going to dress up as a church member and go to church Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." Moderators Bravus Posted September 30, 2011 Moderators Posted September 30, 2011 Terrifying. :D Quote Truth is important
addvantage Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 The Scriptures teach us that we are not to do as the heathen do, nor to learn their ways. There is nothing in all this that someone can say that it glorifies God, but I'm sure that there will be someone who will dredge to the depths of hell to find something they claim that it honors God. If this steps on your toes a little heavy, I suggest that you do not know the Holy Nature of God, nor the Scriptures He gave us to keep us from such grave offenses and keep us unspotted from this world. Moderators Bravus Posted October 1, 2011 Moderators Posted October 1, 2011 More terrifying. Quote Truth is important

Dr. Shane Posted October 1, 2011 Author Posted October 1, 2011 One of our lay pastors has an annual Halloween Party out on his farm each year that starts out with a little sermon on the state of the dead and prayer meeting before breaking into a smores and nachos festival. He has horseback riding and one of those inflatable jumping gyms for the kids. It is normally a lot of fun. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Dr. Shane Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 A lot of churches call it a Fall Festival. To me it doesn't matter. A rose by any other name is still a rose. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity

addvantage Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 A lot of churches call it a Fall Festival. To me it doesn't matter. A rose by any other name is still a rose. How many deceptions of Satan are masked in things that are apparently innocent garb? It works very often with the ignorant and unwary. A common phrase that describes this is "a sheep in wolf's clothing." Quote addvantage
Dr. Shane Posted October 8, 2011 Author Posted October 8, 2011 We shall know them by their fruits (aka pumpkins). So please tell how many folks have been led to the gates of hell by having a party on October 31. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
