Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted October 9, 2011 Author Administrators Posted October 9, 2011 Yes. Prophecy > predicting the future. Or, stated another way, Illumination = Predicting the future +A+B +Y. The other element that gets terribly confused far too often: Lightbearer does not equal Light. And further, being a light bearer is not an exclusive engagement, not a full time occupation. In our time it is a shared responsibility. I am thinking that we may only be able to carry on this simplicity for so long, so here is the direction I am going. The essential purpose of prophecy is to shed light on the path we travel. The ones holding or carrying the light are prophets. One prophet can do only so much. The more lightbearers the better we see the path. And the closer the lightbearers are to the travelers the more helpful the light will be. The farther behind the light source the greater are the shadows cast by it for those ahead on the path. If the one holding the light is closer and points it at the path where our feet are stepping, we stumble less. But to determine the path ahead someone has to point farther ahead. But the greater the distance pointed ahead the light diffuses and distant objects cannot be seen clearly and longer shadows are cast. The Biblical concept of prophecy was one of edification. The prediction that in the end days of earth that knowledge will increase is not a negative. And it is not just speaking of secular knowledge. Knowledge comes as the result of greater illumination. And that will be widespread. You are the light of the world. Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." teresaq Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Wow! Ok. That really did help my understanding btw. :) Quote facebook. /teresa.quintero.790
Ellen Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 We can surmise so much from prophecy, but only after it has happened do we know if it was the right conclusion. Only a true prophet can be 100% right about future events. In 1999 my sister was convinced that the Pope was going to change the calandar in 2000. I was convinced she was wrong - I had a 2000 calandar in my purse at the time! She had heard it from a self proclaimed prophet. Quote
