Raymond Moore had that researched in his books (the decline in creative ability as children age through the educational system). One point that Moore made that this speaker reiterated was that ALL children are creative, VERY creative. It's only when you start processing them (like weiners, I've read), putting them all through the same mold no matter if they fit or not, that the creativity gets destroyed. Moore used to say that home education was good for all children, but may not be good for all parents. I do think good homeschooling can be one solution to the problems he outlines, but it's not the only one. And I think we do need to push back in the schooling system against the testing-for-academic-knowledge-is-all agenda, and get back to educating whole people... My hubby has received 2 I think, now, given to him free from the Education department. It's not a big book, but it has HUGE ideas.
