The REAL problem was they didn't want to pay for the protection the English Government was providing with ships and an army to keep the settlers safe. That whole "tea" thing was just a convenient excuse to avoid paying their fair share. ...this country was founded on an attitude of "entitlement" I tell ya... Wait,,, what was the question? :) Quote

ClubV12 Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 As christians, like Jesus, our roll is behind the scenes. We hand out the swords (bibles) and preach peace. But those hearing the message are filled with folks like Peter, quick to draw the sword, the literal sword. Well intentioned but at times a bit misguided, never the less, what you have next is a revolution. It is the inevitable result of "truth", all though, I'll stay behind the scenes and be as careful as I can not to provoke a revoltuion. All the while, knowing it will come. The "spark" may be little more than a box of tea. As to 1776, the Tories can and do make a case for "treason" against the USA and they have some reasonable points in that argument. But, since we won and they lost.... :) Quote
