Moderators Bravus Posted October 23, 2011 Moderators Posted October 23, 2011 Certainly cherry-picking the specific year 1942, the height of Hitler's war, as a comparison for genocide levels weakens the argument in the article linked. At the same time, actually looking at reality rather than at scaremongering based on our short attention spans and lack of historical perspective is not really the same thing as preaching 'peace and safety'. Or, if it is, then I find it worrying that some would prefer to base a call to repentence on falsehoods about the extent to which we see 'wars and rumors of wars' now compared to other times in history.
