Moderators John317 Posted November 10, 2011 Moderators Posted November 10, 2011 How would they be behaving if it were Obama who was being accused? The would not be talking about evidence or false accusations. I believe President Obama has much more serious things to worry about than the kind of accusations Cain is dealing with. But if Obama was accused of the same things and in the same way as Cain is being accused, I am sure they would be behaving the same as Democrats are behaving about the situation. The Democrats are trying to use it for political advantage, of course. It's the nature of the beast. I don't believe this can justly be interpreted to mean a person isn't interested in the future of the country. When it comes to Obama, there are many Americans who voted for the president but who now wish they hadn't, and they believe that anything they can do to push Obama out of office will be for the good of the country. I agree that Obama has to go, but I wouldn't participate in any dishonesty to get it done. So if the same accusations were made against the president, I would want to see much more evidence before deciding he had done wrong. This is my view of Cain. I like Cain and agree with most of what he says, and if he turns out to be the Republican candidate, I would vote for him in a heart-beat. I also like Gingrich and Romney. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Moderators lazarus Posted November 10, 2011 Moderators Posted November 10, 2011 One can be intellectually honest and yet disagree with Ron Paul. I think it's a mistake to think that if people really are concerned with the future of America, their intellectual honesty will result in ideas like those of Ron Paul. I like many of the things he says, but I don't agree with his thinking on foreign policy. You can think someone is intellectually honest without agreeing with their ideas. What would you say are Obama's core principles? I see Obama more of an ideologue than President Clinton was. Clinton was more of practical politician who was willing to made radical changes if he needed to in order to stay in power or in order to do what he thought was right for the country. An ideologue is not necessarily more honest. Marx, Lenin, Stalin, and Mao, for instance, were ideologues but none of them had much personal integrity. bonnie Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 Do you consider Obama one of the rare intellectually honest politicians who have core principles and stick to them? In a odd way Obama may be. The above statement does not mean that a rare intellectually honest politician has the best interest of the country at heart. You look at his life from childhood on and the ideology he grew up with, the same he continued in his adult life.He was and is surrounded by marxist/communist/socialist czars, supporters, friends. You seek your own level in life, not unlike water does. Up until a republican congress took over as such,Obama did pretty much as he pleased and none of it was good for the country. Now all the handwringing about not working together. You don't or should not work/compromise with those that are so completely opposed to what you believe. Compromise is not a word to be worshiped as it seems to be now. Obama will continue dividing and rewarding till he has as many as necessary in the wagon and the government pushing it. He is all about dependents and victims, and making as many as possible. I think Cain disturbs those that follow that mindset. Maybe that is what some of the liberal media meant when they said "Cain was not the right kind of black" No one here seems to be able to answer that question which I have asked more than once. What is the right kind of black? Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. Why am I not surprised? I didn't dismiss them, I read the articles you sited. I posted quotesfrom the articles themselves and asked questions in response. I'm not black but it's degrading to me just to hear people say such a thing. I would think they'd resent it. I would if people said it about white people.
