bonnie Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Former Newsweek Editor on Why He Didn't Run Lewinsky Story: 'We Didn't Feel We Were on Firm Enough Ground' By: Noel Sheppard | November 06, 2011 | Former Newsweek editor Mark Whitaker said Sunday he chose not to run the story that former President Bill Clinton had an affair with Monica Lewinsky because he and his staff didn't feel they were on firm enough ground. "If we had gotten that wrong," Whitaker told CNN's Howard Kurtz on Reliable Sources, it "could have been a mortal blow to Newsweek's reputation" (video follows with transcript and commentary): Kurtz Spends 22 Minutes on Cain Allegations With No Mention of Media's Coverage of Clinton Sex Scandals By: Noel Sheppard | November 06, 2011 | Read more: http://newsbusters.org/#ixzz1d3Aj5Av0 Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. Mr. Whitaker's explanation seemed to make sense to me but to Rush it is a grand conspiracy to protect Clinton. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... bonnie Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 I heard Rush yacking about this today. Mr. Whitaker's explanation seemed to make sense to me but to Rush it is a grand conspiracy to protect Clinton. I am really happy for you that you were not deprived of your needed daily dose. It still dodges the question. As for Cain if he is guilty of the accusations I believe he needs to step down, irrespective of Clinton or the acceptance of those that winked at what he did. While it is doubtful many here agree,I believe what a man/woman is in their private life is exactly who they are.The public persona is easy to fake I am just curious to hear a explanation of the double standard. Why was it felt what Clinton did in his so-called private life did not have a bearing on a sitting president and yet now has a bearing on the ability of Cain as a presidential candidate?
