Everyone is asking, how could he have messed up so big? It is a grand mystery.

No mystery, folks. It was planned. That is the only answer that makes sense. Look how his campaign sprung into "damage control". I think they had everything planned out. He has been sinking in the polls. What did he have to lose?

I would like to believe it was planned.

But how does he gain anything by it?

Was he just looking for a way to get in the news?

Maybe he was looking for the votes of all those people who want a president who can't remember important things and is an awful debater.

If you're right, I think it proves he's also a very poor planner. LOL

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

You make a good point, but I don't totally agree. What they are calling a goof or an oops could just be a moment of forgetting. People have been known to do that. Its unfortunate that that happen to him at that moment.

Could be but as we read and listen to all the pundents and talking-heads, they are all baffled on how he could have forgotten. No one even asked him the question. On top of that, his performance before and after that were his best of any debate so one cannot say it was an off-day or he wasn't prepared. Except for that, he was at the top of his game, which makes one think that was actually part of his game.

I see his biggest problem being his very limited government positions. Look at the point he was making. He wants to eliminate the departments of commerce, education and energy. All of those are crucial parts of government. He favors a flat tax which failed to get Steve Forbes the nomination when he used it as his platform. I think Perry's biggest problem is his platform and his "Oops" was just a way to get him a bunch of attention and try to jump start his campaign back to life.
