My FB friends have access to the gratitude list I posted as a note a few weeks back.

First of course is that I believe in a loving God. In my work with recovering alcoholics and addicts I see so many that have been beat up by religion and become bitter toward the concept of God. I also see a lot of religions in the world that are deserving of such scorn. So I am so very grateful for the Adventist message of a loving God that does not want to scare me out of hell but rather to lure me into heaven with His great and compassionate love.

Second to that is for my family. My wife and children are all in good health. That will surely change someday but for now everyone is healthy and that is certainly something to be thankful for.

Third is that I still have a good job. I live day by day on this one. Construction is the hardest hit industry in this recession. So far I am still employed and that is a huge blessing from God.

I'm thankful for my Jewish heritage. Its the bases of our Christian Faith. Even though I was not brought up that way. But my father allowed us to be brought up SDA, so I can say that he was a Messianic Jew at heart, even though he didn't except Jesus as the Messiah at first.
